Two-tops are the busiest tables in most restaurants, and they are usually the least comfortable: two loose chairs and a small table in the middle of traffic. The Delancey gives them a booth.
Each side is a short 35 in (90 cm) booth with an upholstered wing at each end, rising to the full back height. Set facing each other about 29.5 in (75 cm) apart with a two-top table between, the pair forms a semi-private compartment. A brass trim follows the outline of the wings.
Capacity. Along the same length of wall, a row of two-top booth pairs typically fits more tables than a long banquette with four-tops, because there is no wasted half-seat at the end of each table. It is the format of choice for small rooms and breakfast or coffee trade.
Construction. Rigid seat boxes, reinforced backs and wings, high-resilience seat foam, recessed plinth.
Options. Seat length, spacing, back height, wing profile, upholstery and trim finish.
