The Grand Street is a booth for the middle of the floor, not the wall. Every face is finished: the outer back is upholstered as carefully as the front, the ends are rounded, and a polished brass band wraps vertically up the end and over the top of the back like a strap, giving the piece a clear front-to-back line from across the room.
The seat is a generous bouclé cushion with a contrasting cognac welt, and the back cushion is softly rounded. The booth sits on a rounded light wood plinth set back from the upholstery.
Where it works. Breaking up a large open dining room, creating a lounge-like zone near a bar, or as a standalone piece in a hotel lobby. Two units placed back to back form a short island with seating on both sides.
Construction. Hardwood and ply frame with rounded end formers; seat on a ply deck with high-resilience foam; brass band fabricated and fixed through the frame. Freestanding booths should be anchored to the floor in busy rooms; we show fixing points on the drawing.
Options. Bouclé, fabric, velvet or vinyl (COM accepted); welt color; brass, bronze or black band; plinth wood and stain; length. Foams specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 on request.
