The Orchard turns a room corner into the best seat in the house. Two high backs meet at 90 degrees and are upholstered as one continuous shell, so there is no break in the corner; the seat follows the L, with the cushion stepped neatly at the inside corner. A rust-colored welt traces the top of the back, the ends and the seat front, picking out the shape against a pale wall.
The seat sits on a light oak-tone plinth, set back from the upholstery and following the L.
Sizing. With 24 in (61 cm) seat depth, each leg of the L must be at least about 48 in (122 cm) to seat two guests comfortably beside the corner. A square table of 30-36 in (76-91 cm) or a round table of 36-42 in (91-107 cm) usually suits a corner booth; allow 24 in of seat width per person.
Construction. Hardwood and ply frames built as two sections joined in the corner with concealed bolts, so it ships flat enough to move through doors; high-resilience foam seats on ply decks.
Options. Fabric, velvet or commercial vinyl (COM accepted); welt color; back height; leg lengths; wood species and stain. We draw it from your wall measurements, including any out-of-square corner. Foams specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 on request.
