The Hester puts each material where it works hardest. The back is a tall field of vertical channels in a soft cream fabric, framed by a dark wood cap at the top; the seat cushions are brown leather, which takes spills and daily wipe-downs; and the seat front below returns to the cream fabric before stepping back to a dark tapered wood plinth.
The split also helps the look age well. The seat is where wear shows first, and in leather it develops patina rather than pilling. The pale back stays clean because it is touched far less.
Construction. Rigid hardwood seat box and reinforced back frame; channels individually stuffed and stitched; seat cushions on a ply deck with high-resilience foam, split into two cushions per 72 in section so they can be removed and cleaned separately. The plinth is set back and tapered so shoes and mops do not touch the fabric.
Lengths. Standard section 72 in (183 cm), extended to any wall in multi-section runs with seams placed between channels.
Options. Back fabric or vinyl (COM accepted); seat in leather, faux leather or commercial vinyl (COL accepted); channel width; cap and plinth stain. Foams specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 on request.
