The Spring Street keeps the floor clear. The banquette is a rigid upholstered box hung on a concealed steel rail fixed to the wall, with the base set back so no support shows. A warm LED strip under the base lights the floor beneath, which is what makes it seem to float in an evening room.
The design is deliberately plain: a single long back cushion, a seat cushion over an upholstered base, square ends, all in oatmeal bouclé. Without legs or a plinth, the line of the seat runs the length of the wall uninterrupted.
Why go floating. Cleaning is faster, because mops go straight under; small rooms look bigger, because the floor reads all the way to the wall; and the shadow line adds depth without extra materials.
Wall and power. Floating seating needs a wall that can carry it: solid masonry or a stud wall with backing designed in. We provide the rail detail, fixing centers and loads with your shop drawing so your contractor or engineer can confirm the wall. The LED needs a power feed and driver location planned with your electrician.
Options. Bouclé, fabric, velvet or vinyl (COM accepted); back height; LED or no LED; lengths to any wall in sections. Foams specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 on request.
