The Reade answers the question every owner asks about light-colored seats: what happens when somebody spills? Its seat is a cream performance vinyl and the photo shows water and red wine sitting on the surface as beads, ready to be wiped off with a cloth. The tall back is an olive velvet-like fabric in narrow vertical channels, with water droplets beading there too.
Performance materials. We specify coated or treated contract materials for seats in busy rooms: vinyls and performance fabrics that resist liquids and can be cleaned with a mild solution. Ask your supplier for the abrasion and cleaning codes, or let us propose options with data sheets.
Light seat, dark back. A pale seat brightens a dining room; pairing it with a deeper back hides the wear that collects at shoulder height.
Construction. Hardwood and plywood seat box, high-resilience foam with a moisture barrier under the cover, channel stitching through to a backing layer, and a dark wood plinth.
Where it works. Family restaurants, brunch places, cafés and hotel breakfast rooms, anywhere spills are a daily event.
Options. Seat and back materials (COM accepted), channel width, single or back-to-back, plinth stain. Foams specified to meet CAL TB 117-2013 on request.
